We're looking for an experienced, passionate and values-aligned In Home & Community Access Team Leader to join our leadership team.

About the Role

As the In Home & Community Access Team Leader, you will work closely with the Business Leader to oversee the day-to-day delivery of quality supports across our In Home and Community Access programs.

You'll provide leadership, guidance and support to Disability Support Workers while ensuring participants receive consistent, high-quality supports that align with their goals, preferences and individual support plans.

This role is a balance of operational leadership, staff mentoring and participant support, requiring someone who is proactive, organised and committed to achieving excellent outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor and support a team of Disability Support Workers.

• Foster a positive, accountable and collaborative team culture.

• Provide regular coaching, supervision and performance support.

• Support the induction, training and ongoing development of new employees.

• Lead by example and promote person-centred practice across all services.

Participant Support & Service Delivery

• Oversee the delivery of high-quality In Home and Community Access supports.

• Ensure participant goals, routines, support plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies are implemented consistently.

• Monitor participant wellbeing and respond proactively to emerging needs.

• Build positive relationships with participants, families, guardians and allied health professionals.

• Promote participant choice, independence and meaningful community participation.

Rostering & Operations

• Assist with workforce planning and roster coordination.

• Ensure services are delivered efficiently and within participant funding.

• Support coverage for planned and unplanned leave.

• Respond to day-to-day operational issues and staffing challenges.

• Participate in a shared after-hours on-call roster, providing leadership and operational support outside normal business hours.

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards, organisational policies and legislative requirements.

• Review participant documentation, progress notes, incident reports and medication records for quality and accuracy.

• Support incident investigations and risk management processes.

• Promote safe work practices and compliance with Work Health and Safety requirements.

• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and organisational projects.

About You

You're an experienced disability professional who leads with integrity, communicates with empathy and enjoys developing others.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment, remain calm under pressure and understand the importance of balancing participant outcomes with operational excellence.

You're someone who builds positive relationships, takes initiative and genuinely enjoys helping both participants and staff succeed.

Essential Selection Criteria

• Minimum two years' leadership experience within the disability sector.

• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring and developing teams within disability services.

• Demonstrated experience delivering In Home and Community Access supports.

• Sound understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards, NDIS Code of Conduct and Quality & Safeguards Commission requirements.

• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the SCHADS Award, including classifications, penalties and roster compliance.

• Demonstrated experience with workforce rostering and scheduling.

• Excellent leadership, coaching and people management skills.

• Strong organisational, time management and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with participants, families, staff and external stakeholders.

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check.

• Current Working with Children Check.

• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate.

• Current unrestricted Australian Driver Licence.

• Availability and willingness to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call roster.

Desirable

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Disability, Community Services, Leadership or a related discipline.

• Experience using relevant client management systems.

• Experience supporting participants with complex support needs and behaviour support plans.

• Experience participating in audits, incident management and continuous quality improvement activities.
